Universal Notes is the most comprehensive study and assessment tool for medical students in the world.
Overview :
Universal Notes contains a complete collection of well-organized and searchable medical school notes for all years of training with a built in question bank (Q-bank) to test the student’s knowledge.
Q-Bank :
The Q-bank allows students to select the specific basic science and body system categories they want to test themselves on. Students can choose from tutor, non-tutor, and test mode, with the ability to review their tests at any time through their quiz history. Each question has complete explanations for the correct and the incorrect answers. Students can then view their progress on the Q-bank progress screen.
Content :
Universal Notes contains over 165 bugs, 270 labs/tests/treatments, 600 drugs, and 715
diseases/conditions for students to master on their way to becoming competent life-long learning physicians.
Competencies :
The student’s knowledge of the material is assessed with thousands of competencies, which challenge students to answer multiple-choice questions, write short answers to open-ended questions, upload diagrams and pictures of their own making, create a PowerPoint presentation, as well as a host of other assessment modalities.
Level Up! :
Completion of competencies earns points for the students, which advance them to different levels of expertise, and earn them new badges. All students start out at Level 1, affectionately titled “Wannabe”.
Progress Screens :
Students can also see their progress in their medical exposure in several categories including: basic science, body system, and clinical rotation. This allows students to visualize where they need more experience to more effectively round out their medical training.
Patient and Procedure Logging Functionality :
Universal Notes comes with its own patient and procedure logging system to allow highly competitive students the opportunity to build their residency portfolio for interview time. Over 1,500 diseases/conditions and skills/procedures can be logged using Universal Notes. Students can then view their lists on the progress screens.
Note Taking :
Universal Notes allows students to take notes within the material and organizes them in a separate folder. The notes are easily accessible when the student returns to the material for review.
Study Groups :
Students can form study groups and message each other regarding the material they are studying.
Lab and Glossary :
The App offers additional support through our Lab and Glossary functions, which allow students to quickly review normal levels or definitions within the content itself.
Administrative Reports :
All 1,500+ topics and questions in Universal Notes are “tagged” according to basic science, body system, clinical rotation, and LCME accreditation standards. This allows institutions that want the full functionality of Universal Notes to possess a continuously mapped and integrated curriculum, which greatly diminishes cost and personnel requirements to put such reports together.
Remediation :
Universal Notes is perfect for remediating students. The system allows for the creation of a specific study plan with built in assessments that students can work on independently. Faculty can then review student progress to ensure the students are keeping up with their study plan.
